Palo Alto, CA — Using AI programming, Mahajan Lab member Julian Wolf, M.D., M.S., an expert in big data analytics, predicted the global and cellular molecular age of diseased eyes using high resolution proteomics of human eye fluid from living patients. Recently published in Cell, AI modeling showed that the age of diseased eyes ranged from 12 to 30 years older than chronological age depending on the type and stage of the eye disease.

The team describes the molecular clock in a short video.
