Consortium for Liquid Biopsies

Our group has established a multi-institutional consortium for collecting ophthalmic surgical samples. Liquid biopsies (e.g. vitreous, aqueous humor) taken from patients undergoing surgery are collected and stored in our tissue biorepository for downstream molecular analysis. We perform a number of proteomic tests on these samples to identify candidate biomarkers for vitreoretinal disease and proteins that may be targeted by available drugs.
